Why do we hurt?
Have you ever wondered if you’re missing something, something important that you cannot quite understand?
What could the voice of pain want us to hear?
If only there were a way to communicate in a language we understand.
Mindbodyknow invites you into a relationship with all that you are and your power to know yourself.
Katy asked me “Why am I hurting?
I fractured my wrist and the x-ray said it had healed completely, why does it still hurt 5 years later? My back too, I had an MRI and everything’s normal but still, it hurts.”
As I insert the smallest acupuncture tack (PHOTO) into her hand she begins to cry, through her tears she tells me she slipped on the ice outside the hospital where her Dad was receiving chemo for cancer in his spine.
As she speaks awareness begin for her, “I miss my Dad SO much….”
In that statement the power of awareness begins to change from something terrifying and looming to something she can know.
The answer to why am I hurting includes the mind, the body, and the emotion that weaves them together.
Your body will cry for attention until you find out what you need. Encouraging the body to speak and allowing yourself to listen is a process that can be learned, like learning a language, and that language can help you know what your body is trying to tell you.
From the spine that won’t bend, the stomach that still aches after all pertinent diagnostics have been performed, the head that won’t stop aching even though the MRI says everything is fine, within all of these is a cry to be seen, heard, and known.
The doorway to the most significant relationship of your life awaits you.
